Dress to Impress - the Velvet Edition

Updated: Dec 2, 2020

As the holiday season is getting closer and closer, we all try to dress to impress a little bit. Probably I am not the only one but my go to material in winter season is velvet. The trend keeps coming back every year so I love the fact that I can wear my outfits from previous years over and over again. Let`s not forget it that velvet will keep you warm on the chilly winter nights and it most certainly the perfect material for any shape and form of outfit. Whether you decide for a velvet maxi dress, a jumpsuit (my favorite) or blouse with a tailored trouser you can have the perfect outfit regardless of the event that you are attending.

I have collected a couple of outfits from this season that you cannot go wrong with.

  1. The first one is from Zara this dress would look stunning with black tights paired with knee-length or ankle boots.

2. My favorite - drumroll please - the ultimate velvet jumpsuit. I bought this one from Mango on Black Friday Sale but keep an eye, I am sure it will be on sale again.

I will wear it with flat or small block heeled pumps so that I actually will be able to walk.

Isn`t it beautiful?

3. The third one. It is the maxi version.

If you prefer to draw the attention to your legs rather then your upper body and if you want to stay within budget this dress could be your perfect choice. Found it on Nelly.com for £42.95

Wear it with heels or sandals. Please do not wear it with boots - that would destroy your entire outfit unless you have long legs, like Karlie Kloss kind of legs. Then you can wear it with whatever you like.

4. The last one ladies. Velvet shirt/blouse/top call it whatever you like.

The blouse below is from Zara Long sleeves puffed at the shoulders. Wrap front with tie fastening in the same fabric. Pair it with maxi or pencil skirt, tailored suit trousers or chuck it over a bodycon dress.

Voila. Pick your favorite outfit and let me know in the comment below.

Have a lovely day.
